Work Whales ("we", "our", or "us") operates the Work Whales web application. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your personal information when you use our platform.

Information We Collect

We collect the following information when you create an account and use Work Whales: • Name (first and last) • Email address • Phone number (optional) • Professional bio • Skills, department, and position • Union membership • Education background • Avatar/profile photo If you sign up with Google OAuth, we receive your name and email address from Google.

How We Use Your Information

Your information is used to: • Create and maintain your Work Whales account • Display your professional profile to other authenticated users • Enable crew chiefs to search for and invite freelancers based on skills, department, position, and union membership • Send you notifications about job invites and team invites • Send transactional emails related to your account (verification, password reset, invitations)

Data Storage

Your data is stored securely using Supabase (PostgreSQL). Supabase provides encryption at rest and in transit. Our application is hosted on Vercel.

Data Sharing

We do not sell your personal information. Your profile information is visible to other authenticated Work Whales users for the purpose of crew matching and hiring. We share data only with the following third-party services that are necessary to operate the platform: • Supabase — authentication and database • Resend — transactional email delivery • Vercel — application hosting

Your Rights

You can: • View and edit your profile information at any time • Request deletion of your account and associated data by contacting us • Opt out of non-essential communications
